  • With modern tools like easy-to-use bread makers we don't need as many bakers and with the electric lightbulb we can keep candles just for aroma or ambiance, but we hardly go out kill and butcher our own meet - thus I would like to be the butcher.

    I have always wanted to learn where the different cuts of meats come from, which ones are better, and WHY! I try and absorb all the Good Eats tips but they fly by too fast for my non-auditory-based learning.

    Well, off to cook some veal.
  • "Sloppy the Butcher" just sounds like a cooler title than "Sloppy the Baker" or "Sloppy the Chandler." I bet it works for just about anyone's name. "Em the Butcher?" Oh yeah.

    Perhaps a better poll would be: which informal war-criminal title is the best?

  • 1. Limited liability. If you make or prepare food, then you run the risk of poisoning the whole village. I wouldn't want to be on the end of the lynch mob when that happens. When it does happen though, you'll be in the money if you're the candlestick maker - those lynch mobs sure like operating at night, and they sure love brandishing burning objects.

    2. No threat from the diet of the month. Vegatables only? Well, you're screwed if you're the butcher. Atkins month? Well, then say goodbye to the bakery. Nope
  • in my spare time. i'm far better at baking and candlestick making than butchering though, since I do them way more.
